Allyson’s Record

  • During her first term, Allyson has overseen tremendous progress at TUSD. Below are just a few of the improvements she has played a part in while she has served.

    • 6 TUSD elementary schools and three TUSD secondary schools were awarded California Distinguished School honors over the last 2 years, making it the second most awarded district in Orange County.

This award, granted by the California State Board of Education, is given to the most exemplary public schools in the state. Only 5-10% of CA schools are awarded this honor annually. TUSD has improved English language arts and mathematics scores, which are well above the state average.

    • TUSD's graduation rate continues to be considered at a very high level with 96.2% of students graduating in 2023-24.

    • Nearly doubled mental health resources for TUSD students.

    • TUSD maintains a low level for student suspension rate, having only 2% of students suspended for at least one day.

    • Dual enrollment with Irvine Valley College grew significantly from 2,127 students in 2023 to 3,288 students in 2024. This helps students prepare for college and can cut down the overall cost of a college education.

  • Allyson helped to secure $12.2 million in outside funding to increase student support services at 11 school sites.

  • Under Allyson's leadership, TUSD obtained a $500,000 federal grant to keep our kids safer at school and invested $3 million in school safety over three years.

Allyson led the way and helped conduct school safety training for all 28 sites in Knowledge Save Lives, Stop the Bleed, Narcan Training, and Comprehensive School Threat Assessment.

  • Under Allyson's leadership, she put students first and led the TUSD board how a non-partisan board should be run: without partisan, political games.

  • Under Allyson's leadership, parents are content and happy about the TUSD schools they send their kids to.

According to district annual survey data, 84% of families feel the district is doing well in regard to student achievement. 86.7% of families feel the district is doing well in the area of inclusion for all students.

  • Allyson achieved a 14.5% raise for all TUSD teachers and classified staff, making TUSD a better and more sustainable place to work for the teachers and staff that serve the student population every day.

Additionally, Allyson helped to equip teachers with the tools to develop more engaging curriculum and assessment methods to provide meaningful feedback to improve learning.

  • Allyson helped establish community specialist support at all 12 schools where our most vulnerable students attend, providing integrated student support and increasing community engagement.

  • TUSD nearly doubled Career Technical Education Pathways (CTE) for students from 347 to 661, and secured an additional $3.7 million in grants for the program.

Programs like these empower students with multiple options: whether it be a career in the trades or a college education.
